The USC Student Senate has a site
up that boasts close to 2000 professor ratings “on record”. Top Ten
lists in different categories exist, including: Most and Least
Effective professors, Most and Least Difficult, Highest and Lowest
level of Concern expressed for students, Highest and Lowest
Availability, and Most and Least Recommended overall. An Advanced
Search mechanism allows users to see discipline-by-discipline how many
professors have been reviewed.
The Daily Trojan ran an article on the site that highlights an abundance of its flaws:
- The professor surveys are being completed in an ad-hoc and unscientific way
- The potential for skewed participation: either students with a lot of good things to say or a lot of bad things to say are apt to be drawn to the site; absent is the voice of moderation
- No mechanism exists to prevent multiple votes or multiple reviews by the same person
- No password protection at present means that anybody, USC student or not, can check in with comments
What do you think of this site? Have you used it before? Would you use it?

Did you guys know about this? I didn't even know till now. I'm surprised the USC Student Senate hasn't told more people about this. Well what's the point if only a small number of students are participating?
I checked out a few of my lecturers. Seems like not many people left their comments or ratings...probably more popular with undergrads.
hmmm...we should start supporting our grad school lecturers then!

This website seems not working any more. What happened? Why is it shut down? This is so unfair to our students.
